ABOUT
Krista Kim is a Canadian-Korean contemporary artist, cultural leader, and founder of the global art movement Techism(2014), which calls for the integration of art and technology to promote digital humanism. Her philosophy envisions technology not as an alienating force, but as a pathway to transcendence and well-being — what she calls “Zen for the digital age.”
She is internationally recognized as the first digital artist to pioneer healing, wellness, and meditation through immersive installations and the metaverse. By merging cutting-edge technologies with contemplative traditions, Kim creates artworks that function as sanctuaries — environments designed to restore, connect, and expand human consciousness. Her aesthetic is defined by shifting digital gradients that evoke calm and meditative focus, large-scale LED and AI-powered installations that serve as “digital Zen gardens” for collective mindfulness, and a philosophy of Digital Humanism that positions technology as a medium for wellness, authenticity, and human flourishing.
Krista Kim’s career exemplifies the convergence of art, technology, and humanism. Through her pioneering philosophy of Techism, she has reshaped the cultural conversation around digital art, NFTs, immersive architecture, and AI — establishing herself as one of the most influential voices at the forefront of the 21st century’s digital renaissance.

ARTIST STATEMENT
”I create digital art as a form of meditative practice, a pursuit of harmony between humanity and technology. My work explores how light, color, and code can heal, elevate consciousness, and create new spaces for reflection in both virtual and physical realms.
Through Techism, a philosophy I founded in 2014, I advocate for the role of the artist in shaping digital culture. I view technology not as a threat to human creativity, but as a canvas for spiritual awakening and inner peace. My signature gradients are born from digital processes but speak in the universal language of color field abstraction—a continuity of modernist traditions reimagined for a dematerialized, networked world.
In an era of generative spectacle and aesthetic pastiche, I remain rooted in authorship and intention. My immersive installations—whether in glass, LED, XR or physical immersive installations—are sanctuaries. They are spaces of stillness in age of acceleration. I believe the future of art is not about AI replacing human expression, but about evolving together toward more conscious and healing forms of experience.” —Krista Kim
