LOUIS 200: 200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries Louis Vuitton, 2021–2022

To mark the bicentennial birthday of house founder Monsieur Louis Vuitton, the maison invited 200 visionaries from across the world — spanning art, architecture, science, music, and culture — to reimagine its most iconic object: the travel trunk. Each piece measured 50 × 50 × 100 centimeters, echoing the dimensions of Vuitton's original 1850s design, and each creator was given a single brief: to transform the trunk into a vessel for a dream, a desire, a vision of the future.

Krista Kim was among the 200 visionaries selected for this global tribute. Her trunk is an expression of the gradient — the defining symbol of her artistic practice and the Techism movement she founded.

"The gradient transcends boundaries, transmuting colours into a spectrum that reveals unexpected beauty — gradient beauty is the spirit of fluid, digital, decentralized culture. Our future is the Metaverse. The gradient represents hope, freedom, innovation, co-creation and co-existence. Multiple colours exist as one, just as we are diverse human beings on the Metaverse. We are progressively more fluid in race, nationality, sexuality, politics, religion, spirituality… we are a gradient. The Metaverse will become our new parallel reality. We will have a frictionless transition between virtual, augmented reality, and reality — this is quantum life. This artwork embodies these futurist concepts and visionary embodiment of Louis Vuitton."

The completed trunks were exhibited in Louis Vuitton store windows worldwide before touring as 200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries: The Exhibition — traveling from the Vuitton family house in Asnières-sur-Seine to Singapore, Los Angeles, and New York City.

The Gradient Trunk Louis Vuitton LOUIS 200, 2021

Krista Kim's trunk for the Louis Vuitton LOUIS 200 project is a luminous embodiment of the gradient — her signature artistic language and the visual philosophy at the heart of the Techism movement. Flowing across the surface of the iconic trunk, a seamless spectrum of colour dissolves boundaries between one hue and the next, reflecting her vision of a world in fluid transition: between cultures, identities, realities, and dimensions.

The gradient here is not merely aesthetic — it is a declaration. It speaks to the decentralized, borderless nature of digital culture and the Metaverse, where multiple colours, like multiple peoples, exist as one. Just as Louis Vuitton's trunks were once vessels carrying dreams across physical borders, Kim's trunk carries a vision of the next frontier — a quantum life in which the virtual and the real move together without friction, and beauty becomes the language of our shared humanity.

As Automobili Lamborghini moves to electrify its complete line-up in 2023 and 2024, the legendary super sports car Aventador is approaching its end of production. In an unprecedented project, the Italian marque is auctioning the last Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae Coupé ever produced and a specifically created one-of-one NFT, in collaboration with two of the most iconic creators of our time, contemporary artists Krista Kim, Steve Aoki, and global brand storytelling agency [INVNT GROUP]™. The Lamborghini ‘Ultimate’ drop is the world’s first supercar 1:1 NFT, marking the end of a successful era for Lamborghini and moving the raging bull forward into the digital era.

There will only be one collector who will own the Ultimate 1:1 NFT Lamborghini collectible that can be shared across generations to come. The lucky collector will be part of the brand’s iconic legacy and will have access to VIP utilities, which include exclusive virtual previews of future limited edition Lamborghini models, a private tour of the Museo Lamborghini, and a virtual “Meet & Greet” with Steve Aoki and Krista Kim, plus other VVIP benefits.

Krista Kim x Utah Jazz
The first NBA Metaverse and NFT in history

The Utah Jazz collaborated with contemporary digital artist Krista Kim to launch the “JAZZXR program”, marking the NBA's first metaverse NFT project. This initiative featured a digitally designed Non-Fungible Token (NFT) that granted owners access to a unique virtual locker room experience. The virtual space, envisioned by Kim and developed with metaverse architect Michael Potts, mirrored the team's actual locker room but incorporated vibrant colors and interactive elements. NFT holders could explore this immersive environment using Oculus headsets and participate in real-time interactions with Jazz icons, including team owner Ryan Smith.

This pioneering project exemplified the potential of metaverse technology in sports, offering fans innovative ways to engage with their favorite teams beyond traditional platforms. By integrating art and technology, the Utah Jazz set a precedent for future sports team activations in the digital realm.
